Medical experts in New Delhi have called Canada continues to export asbestos to developing countries “criminal” and warn that asbestos kills workers in India. Asbestos is used in India to make a variety of products for concrete pipes of the metal roof, and one-third of the asbestos comes from Canada, the rest is imported from Zimbabwe, Russia and Kazakhstan. Dr Joshi calls on the Canadian government to stop the export of asbestos to stop exporting “misery” and to oppose the use of asbestos anywhere in the world.
